A Leicestershire cab driver who was left blinded in one by a thug today helped police launch a new appeal for help tracing the man who attacked him. In a statement, the police officials have appealed for witnesses of the incident to come forward into finding the man that badly assaulted a cabbie in Leicester.
Sujan pal, a Leicestershire cab driver, was attacked by a man outside of the rose and crown pub in Uppingham road, Houghton on the hill, in the early hours of Christmas day last year. Yesterday, the Leicestershire police released a CCTV image of a man after a taxi driver was racially abused and assaulted while working in Warrington.
The lethal blow has damaged his left eye socket which resulted in losing his eyesight and job forever. Sujan pal said, “I have been a taxi driver from the last twelve years, and this is the first time anything like that happened to me.”
“I am worried about what’s coming in the future for me. I have a family to support, but right now all I want is my eyesight back.”
“Thank you for everyone for standing behind me in this crucial time, and I would ask that they, please co-operate with the police and do the right thing so that this does not happen to anyone else again.”
